Start in Hamburg and finish in Kristiansand

3,000 km in 8 days through:

• Scandinavia: Denmark, Sweden & Norway
• Fjords and glacier landscapes in Norway
• Jostedalsbreen, the largest glacier on the European mainland
• Geirangerfjord, Hardangerfjord, Sognefjord, Lysefjord, and much more.
• snow-covered forests and lake landscapes in Sweden
• spectacular coastal roads along the Atlantic Ocean, including the Atlantic Ocean Road

In January the rally starts in Hamburg. The event begins around 10am and the official start takes place between 11 and 12am. 

On the evenings prior, all adventurers can already get to know each other at the pre-adventure-get-together and get in the mood for the upcoming adventures. The event will start around 6pm.

Of course, all friends and fans are welcome.

On the way through Scandinavia, we celebrate awesome rally events with you.

From ice drift action on a frozen lake to winter bivouac party in the snowy forests with campfire, saunas and hot tub, everything is included.

Where and what exactly happens on the route will remain our secret until the start...you'll find out in the Roadbook!

In Kristiansand, we celebrate the successful completion of the Viking Snow rally with a big closing event and, of course, an award ceremony.
There will also be an official hotel recommendation at the finish location.

The winner of the Viking Snow Roadbook Competition will earn a starting spot for another SAC rally of their choice worth up to €1,790!

At the start of the Viking Snow Rally in Hamburg, the Roadbook will be handed over to your team, packed with great stage suggestions, incredible challenges, fun & adventure.

The tasks and adventures have to be solved in the best possible way with your team until you reach the finish line. Creativity and talent for improvisation are key.
The roadbook tasks are not compulsory!

In your rally kit you will find everything you need for an official rally:

• Rally vehicle branding with official Viking Snow logos and start numbers
• limited edition rally hoodies, scarves, and hats
• other great Viking Snow merchandising

Your team will receive the rally kit two weeks before the start.

With the SAC Live Tracking App for all rally teams, your friends, relatives and colleagues can follow your team live during the rally.

With the app you can view your driven route as well as rally statistics and add photos, videos and comments to the individual stages. You can also create a professionally designed photo book with all your rally memories after the rally.

From a winter bivouac on a glacier to a log cabin with a beaver to a luxury hotel & champagne, anything is allowed! Depending on your sense of adventure and budget, you are free to decide what suits you best on each stage.

The spontaneous search for suitable accommodation on the respective stage is usually no problem during the rally period. 

In addition, there are hotel recommendations for each stage.

Each team will receive detailed hotel recommendations for each stage in good time before the rally starts.

For special events and evening gatherings, rooms are available in the immediate vicinity.
We recommend mid-range hotels, approx. EUR 120–160/night in a double room.

Alternatively: winter bivouac under the Northern Lights or luxury spa of your choice.

Roadbook
You and your team will receive a Roadbook with exciting stage suggestions as well as extraordinary tasks, cool challenges and opportunities for extra fun. The activities and tips in the Roadbook are just a bonus, not mandatory!

All possible, nothing required!

A rally team consists of all occupants of a rally vehicle. Whether you are a solo driver, a classic two-person team, or a rally crew filling every seat, you and your vehicle decide the size of your team!

A motorcycle team may consist of a maximum of two motorcycles.

Four-legged friends are also welcome at our rallies.

Minors who are team members must be registered in advance with the rally management.

The road conditions during the rally could not be more varied:

From dry asphalt roads at plus 5 degrees,
to gravel paths with a thick layer of snow at minus 20 degrees,
through icy pothole parkours at 0 degrees.

Everything is possible & there is something for every taste!

Just as with any adventure rally—but especially in winter—choosing the right tires is a science unto itself.

Really good winter tires are an absolute must!

Whether you’re allowed to use spiked/studded tires depends on each country’s road regulations. If you want to cruise with spikes, you should wait until Scandinavia to put them on, as they are generally forbidden in Germany.

The starting fee for the Viking Snow rally is 1.600€ for a team of 2.

For each additional team member, an starting fee of 300€ will be charged.

Additional team members can be registered up to one month before the start of the rally.

Round up 250€ for great charity projects. All possible – nothing required!

You can either collect for one of our selected charity partners or choose a charity project that has always been close to your heart.

Charity donations can be collected any time from the date you sign up to the moment you cross the Finish Line.
