BACK TO THE ROOTSEUROPEAN VINTAGE WITH ENOUGH STYLE TO SATISFY YOURINDIVIDUAL FLAIR

To take part in the ultimate road trip across Europe, your rally vehicle only needs to fill one requirement: It must have style! Whether old school or new school, it's the spirit of adventure that counts.

If you’re a connaisseur of French or Italian cars, you might consider a stylish Citroën DS or 2CV, Lancia Delta Integrale, Renault R 4 or Fiat 500 to get through tight alleyways in the mountain villages of Piemont or in the French Maritime Alps.

When looking for some solid wheels to get over the icy mountain passes and bump down mysterious dirt roads, how about snagging a Mercedes/8, Saab 900, VW Käfer, Porsche 944 or Ford Granada? Or, why not go Eastern Bloc retro with the all-purpose Lada Niva or the miracle in plastic, the Trabant?

Newtimer, classic & vintage cars, individual and with character, are the perfect adventure vehicles for this unique challenge.

There is no designated maximum value for your rally vehicle.

You can still sign up even if you haven’t gotten your vehicle yet. You have time until the start of the rally to find your perfect set of wheels.

Car Challenge:

We created the Car Challenge to honor teams with real road legends and iconic cars. We know that participants with these old-school vehicles have to master the rally and its challenges under much tougher conditions.

Therefore, the following applies: The older the vehicle, the more points in the Roadbook Competition.

In the Car Challenge, teams with classic & vintage vehicles that are at least 20 years old receive additional points in the Roadbook Competition. Old school is always cool!

Where can I get a suitable rally vehicle?

Have a look at your car-crazy brother-in-law Lukas' garage! And if the dusty Jeep Grand Cherokee is no longer there or he has to charge his new Volkswagen ID.3 first, then the Internet will definitely help you. You might be surprised at the number of affordable, quality cars that are offered on some used-car websites that’ll be perfect for your winter rally roadtrip and will also comply with the rules of the European Mountain Summit.

Is it necessary to modify the vehicle?

You can participate in the rally with any normal, roadworthy vehicle—no special modifications are required.

Modifying, upgrading, pimping, lowering, raising... All of this is of course also permitted. So, if you want to spend a lot of money converting your car into the ultimate rally vehicle, you are allowed to do so.
All modifications must of course be road legal and comply with the technical inspection regulations of the country in which the vehicle is registeredd.

What happens to my beloved rally car after I cross the finish line?

That’s up to you! How about just happily driving it home, you full of adventure and the car full of luggage, and rolling up in it again next year for the next rally?!

Sustainability concept

In all SAC Rallyes, resources are conserved and cultural assets are protected by the preservation and use of modern classic or vintage cars. It is a sign against the throwaway society and against the general consumer behaviour. To purchase a new, "fuel-efficient" leasing vehicle every 2 years causes as much CO2 during the production of the vehicle as driving a modern classic or vintage car for 10 years through the countryside.
In the context of the European Mountain Summit rally the participants travel 6 countries in 5 days and cause thereby per person not even a quarter of the CO2 emission of a flight to Mallorca for a long weekend.
Also, the long-lasting impression of this adventure and the experience of the different cultures remains for years. In contrast to an air trip, here the way is still the goal.

The environment thanks!

Since vehicles, no matter if electric vehicle or classic car, always emit CO2, we ask each team for an ECO compensation for the chosen rally vehicle and the driven distance.
The CO2 emissions caused by each rally team can thus be offset elsewhere by supporting climate protection projects.
