Die Basis der Namensgebung dieses Teams ist natürlich das Herzstück - das Fahrzeug, der Leistungstarke Volkswagen Polo 9N3 aus dem Jahre 2005, mit seinem unverwüstlichen, 54PS starken, 3 Zylinder Benziner. Durch dieses unglaubliche Übermaß an Leistung und Drehmoment auf 1089kg, ensteht ein Leistungsgewicht von ca. 20kg/PS (Adonis ähnliche Körper von den Teammitgliedern nicht einberechnet). Kraft im Überfluss - denn noch mehr Leistung wäre Verschwendung.

Begleitet uns auf unsere Odysee durch den baltischen Raum und bewundert die Durchhaltekraft deutscher Ingenieurskunst. Ob das Team die gleiche Wiederstandsfähigkeit, wie dieses blechverkleidete Höllengefährt nachweisen kann, wird sich zeigen.

Der Grundgedanke dieser Teilnahme ist das Abenteuer. Verbunden mit der Möglichkeit Spenden für den Tierschutzverien Delmenhorst u.U e.V. zu sammeln (hier seid ihr gefragt), schlagen wir uns durch 7500km unbarmherzigen Asphalt, Schotterwege, Gassen und sonstige unerwartete Straßenarten. Das Ganze ohne GPS, ganz "old school" mit Karte/Kompass. Tretet in Kontakt mit uns, leistet uns moralischen und seelischen Beistand, kurz um, seid mit uns dabei!!!

THE 54

The name of this team is, of course, based on its centerpiece – the car: the powerful Volkswagen Polo 9N3 from the year 2005, equipped with its indestructible 54-horsepower 3-cylinder petrol engine. With this incredible abundance of power and torque propelling 1089 kg, we achieve a power-to-weight ratio of about 20 kg per horsepower (not including the Adonis-like physiques of the team members). Power in excess – because any more would simply be wasteful.

Join us on our odyssey through the Baltic region and marvel at the endurance of German engineering. Whether the team can demonstrate the same resilience as this sheet-metal-clad beast from hell remains to be seen.

The core idea behind this journey is adventure. Combined with the opportunity to collect donations for the animal protection organization Tierschutzverein Delmenhorst u.U. e.V. (this is where you come in), we will battle through 7,500 km of relentless asphalt, gravel roads, alleys, and all sorts of unexpected road types. All without GPS – going completely "old school" with map and compass. Get in touch with us, support us morally and emotionally – in short, be part of it all!
