Entry into Brussels environmental zone

From January 2018, an environmental zone has been introduced throughout the Brussels Metropolitan Region. This results in adriving ban for diesel vehicles of EURO class 1 and 2 and petrol-driven-cars of EURO class 1,which can only enter with an environmental ticket, which can be used a maximum of 8 calendar days per year.

For a daily fee of 35€ non-compliant vehicles can enter the environmental zone.The necessary day pass can be ordered online.

Motorcycles of class L, trucks of class N2 and N3 and classic cars older than30 years are not affected by the driving ban.

If you meet the conditions for entry, you do not needasticker,any wayYOU MUST REGISTER YOUR VEHICLE IN ADVANCE ONLINE.Only in the case of registration,intelligent cameras can recognize the vehicle when comparing the number plate. To register for free, proceed as follows:

  1. Go to the Low Emission Zone websiteand select your preferred language.
  2. Under the heading "My Vehicle" ("I have a vehicle which is registered abroad, does the LEZ apply to me ?") you will find the link to the registration portal ("online form available here").

Please note thatall foreign vehicles must be registeredsince 1 October 2018!Violations will be punished with highfines between 150€ and 350€!
